Hello,
I am using Molflow 2.6.9. When I’m trying to save large files (a few 100,000 facets, uncompressed size >300Mb), to load them or to modify things on them, I sometimes have Molflow+ freeze on the “waiting for subprocesses to load geometry…” screen. Despite the file being less than twice as large as other functioning files, no matter how long I wait, the geometry does not load.
Do you know what is going on? Is there a time limit on loading the geometry?
I think Molflow doesn’t freeze, just it waits a lot. The file size doesn’t indicate the load size. Most likely you run out of memory and Windows starts to swap - check RAM usage and and if confirmed, reduce the subprocess number.
I will not investigate the cause because in 2.9.15, I’ve added the “load status” window to show exactly what’s happening when Molflow GUI is waiting for subprocesses, and the user can cancel the loading process if taking too long.
I’m pretty sure it does freeze (I have let it run for a night with no further progress), but I understand you not wanting to go into it when there is a new version. I’ve tried switching to 2.9.22, which seemed to solve the problem. Thank you for your time!
