Could not launch Synrad on Mac M1

After installation home-brew following the instructions, molflow works well but synrad cannot be executed. The terminal command shown

" dyld[4611]: Library not loaded: ‘/usr/local/opt/libpng/lib/libpng16.16.dylib’
Referenced from: ‘/Users/thanapong/Documents/synrad_mac_1.4.30/synrad’
Reason: tried: ‘/usr/local/opt/libpng/lib/libpng16.16.dylib’ (no such file), ‘/usr/local/lib/libpng16.16.dylib’ (no such file), ‘/usr/lib/libpng16.16.dylib’ (no such file)
zsh: abort ./synrad "
Anyone knows how to fix it? Thank you in advance.

Hello Krissa,

Synrad 1.4.30 was built in early 2021 for a previous MacOS, and isn’t compatible with the current version.

You can…

  • Wait for 1.4.31 to be released in the first week of January
  • Use the 1.5.3 beta for anything urgent
  • Re-build Synrad from source on your Mac (instructions)
  • Use the Windows version which still runs fine
