How to calculate the transmission probability

Hello,
I wonder what is the formula for calculating the transmission probability.

w=An/SUMDES or w=1- (An/SUMDES)

w denotes transmission probability;
An denotes absorption on facet n;
SUMDES denotes total desorbed.

It depends on n.
In plain simple english, An/SUMDES means the ratio of molecules that end up sticking on facet n.

Therefore: if n is the exit, then w=An/SUMDES, if n is the entrance, then w=1-(An/SUMDES).
