I’m currently experiencing an issue with Molflow+ version 2.9.24 (2924) that I hope someone might help me with. Whenever I import an STL file into the program, Molflow+ quits unexpectedly right after I select an option from the “Choose STL file units” dialogue. This issue persists regardless of the unit chosen.
Here are the steps I follow:
Open Molflow+ 2.9.24.
Import an STL file.
A dialogue box appears asking to “Choose STL file units.”
Upon selecting any unit (mm, cm, m), the program immediately quits without any error message.
Has anyone else encountered this problem, or does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I cannot reproduce this, so please attach an Stl that produces the crash, and provide your OS version and system locale. Also, make sure you’re opening from a non-cloud location.
I apologize for the delay in my response. Thank you for your patience. Below are the details of my operating system and PC specifications:
OS and System Details:
Edition : Windows 11 Home
Version : 23H2
OS build: 22631.3880
Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1020.0
PC Specifications:
Processor: Intel(R) Core™ i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz, 2.90 GHz
Installed RAM: 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable)
System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Regarding the STL file, it was not loaded from a cloud location. However, due to privacy or security concerns, I am unable to share the STL file publicly. If it is possible to address the issue without the file, or if there’s an alternative method of securely sharing the file that you could suggest, please let me know.
That’s a pretty standard setup. Make sure Molflow has write permission in its own directory (it’s not at Program Files or similar). Can you save any file, for example a quick pipe?
Hello Maarton,
I’m really sorry for the delay. I installed Molflow+ on three different PCs and encountered the same issue. However, in one of the trials, Molflow crashed when the attached message window appeared.
Happy to hear that.
I’m not sure which specific bug was causing the crash with 2.9.21, I wasn’t fixing anything specific recently. But if it works with 2.9.24 (as in the title of this thread), then I won’t investigate.
Get back if you have problems with the current version.
Regards, Marton
