Molflow suitability

Hello

I’m currently in an Undergrad project and i’m trying to compare my CFD Fluent simulation ( with B/S conditions) with another model.

It is a 10mm*10mm cylinder at Initial pressure of 10Pa, Gas is injected for 0.1s at 0.001kg/s through a 0.25mm orifice.

Is it possible to perform this simulation on molflow ? I have tried but am getting routine crashes, unfortunately. ( I tried by setting time dependant outgassing @ 1e-2 (0-1s) and an injection time dependant outgassing rate of 0.253 (1-1.1s) at the orifice. )

Could you please share the crashing geometry with us?
I’ll check, and if we find a bug we can fix it asap.

PS Molflow works only for molecular flow, which is usually below 1E-3mbar. This is the regime where CFD simulations fail.

I can share the case files with you , but is it safe to assume that the crashing is due to the inherent molecular flow limitation of molflow ?

No, Molflow should never crash, regardless of the input.
