I am working on the dynamic vacuum simulation after the plasma target evaporates into the chamber and continually into the pipe line for FAIR project. I read the User Guide that we can define the space-dependent desoption file, but how about time-dependent desorption? Is it possible?
No, for the moment, the public version only allows dynamic simulations where desorption starts at t=0 and remains uniform thereafter (pressure buildup scenarios).
There is, however, a test version with which is capable to simulate a desorption between two moments (that is, zero before the first moment, a given value between the two, and zero after the second). This might be usable for plasma evaporation, see for example this animation where gas pumpdown due to an electrical discharge is simulated:
Thank you for your reply. I will appreciate very much if you can send me this test version.
Maybe through email? My email address: renjieru@impcas.ac.cn
Hi!
Could you also send this version to me? I am working on ion beam impact induced gas desorption at GSI for FAIR.
My adress is L.Bozyk@gsi.de
Best regards
Lars
I’ve made this version public: in the Downloads section, it is the latest beta (2.5.4). It is capable to desorb uniformly between two moments (desorption starts at t0 and stops at t1).
Right now I’m working on 2.6 where the desorption can vary following any function/pulse shape.
