Is it possible to turn on/off the display of non-planer facets? If from imported CAD models, they only usual only cause negligible leakage, but look horrible if trying to capture an image for a presentation.

You can turn it off in Global Settings (highlight non-planar facets).
(If I were you, I’d fix these by Facet->Select non planar, then Facet->Triangulate.)
